1st Sawston Scouts

Scouts_RGB_green.jpg

We have a troop of about 20 boys and girls aged 10-14 who enjoy a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities on Thursdays and at other organised events. Our 'Scout Hut' is St Mary's Community Hall in Sawston, but we are often out and about around the South Cambridgeshire area doing various activities. Why not take a look at our Programmes page to see our latest Programme and an archive of activities. Each year we go on a Winter Camp (indoors) and a Summer Camp (tents) and often meet up for evenings with other local troops. We also attend local events for St George's Day and Remembrance Sunday.

We are always keen to take on new youth members and at present do not have a waiting list, so please use do get in touch using the contact button in the footer and arrange a visit to one of our evenings. Our Group is primarily intended to accept members from Sawston, Pampisford and Babraham but we can accept member form other villages nearby.

Our Scout Leader is Neil Reid, who has been in post for longer than he can remember! We also have a few Assistant Scout Leaders, Scout Section Assistants, Occasional Helpers, and Young Leaders. Due to family and work commitments, we have been short of Adult help so have recently made use of Parent Helpers and this has been vital in keeping our troop running. If you are interested in joining us as a helper or full Scout Leader, please do get in touch.
